Yet another keeper in the series created by Mr. Faudree. Breaking down the "details" of design into categories, Charles guides us along the path of graceful and tasteful accessorizing. Photographs are from homes into which we've not been previously invited, all of which still maintain the high style French Country design of which Charles is the master. What has mystified me, time and time again, are the unique appointments...boxes, figurines, artwork, fabrics, that make up a Charles Faudree room. This book definitely puts its focus on these exotic and charming objects.
Featured, as always, are Charles' Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, who are undoubtedly the most precious decorative details of any home.

Charles Faudree was named one of America's top 100 designers. He maintains a retail shop and his Charles Faudree Collection of fabric is marketed through Vervain. He's the author of four previous books published by Gibbs Smith. He lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jenifer Jordan has been a photographer of home interiors and architecture for more than 25 years. She has photographed all of Charles Faudree's books and also Modern Country. She lives in Tulsa.

I've owned it for six years, and it is still one of my go-to reference guides whenever I have doubts regarding certain materials & methods. The authors not only explain the construction process and materials involved, but also provide the (building) scientific context for many of the typically encountered assemblies in today's construction industry. If you're a student, please don't be intimidated by the sheer mass of this book. You'll be thankful for the solid foundation this book provides when you transition from academia to practice.
With that said, this book will not provide exhaustive detail on any particular type of construction (such a book will most likely not fit on any one bookshelf or hard drive), but it will certainly point you in the right direction whether you are searching for pre-determined solutions or are developing your own details.
