The Heartbreaker Review

This is a sweet southern romance with a lot of humor. The small town setting lends a rich atmosphere to the story, and I found the characters very likable and believable. I do appreciate a love story which has a lot of sexual tension, but closes that metaphorical door on the love scenes. I also love a hero who is tender and caring. This is Sam. He works hard to make his medical practice a success while trying to do right by his orphaned younger brother, and negotiate the transforming relationship with Lucki, his neighbor.
Best scene? The BB incident in the kitchen.

We've all been lured by the description of the idyllic small town, where everyone you meet is friendly and helpful. Where you can walk a few blocks to the Post Office for a chat while you mail a package, or drop into the local diner for a quick lunch with friends. Where everyone you meet on the street gives you a warm greeting. But how would you react if you found out your next door neighbor, that great guy you knew growing up, might be a serial killer? Or the mailman you've chatted with over the years and even given your fresh-baked cookies, suddenly acts far more menacing? This is the small town Ms. Gragg writes about with such authenticity. Best friends might not be your friend at all, the babysitter down the block might turn out to be your worst nightmare. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be looking for more from this author.

Welcome to high-class hillbilly author Tonya Kappes' new fictional town Grandberry Falls!!!
You can pull-up a barstool at the local drinking hole The Thirsty Turtle. Dine at The Fatted Pig. Shop at The Figure 8 Boutique and the Busy Bee Yarn Shop. Or simply relax by The Falls and enjoy a cup of your fave coffee from The Trembling Cup Cafe.

Anyhoo...not only is Kappes' Grandberry Falls terrific, and all its townspeople a stitch and then some, I fell in love right along with her hero and heroine - local florist Celia and Hollywood movie star on-the-run Sam...two people with a ton they're hiding from.
Beyond the fantabulous settings and characters, there was one other wonderful element I'll never forget about this story...and that would be...the flowers...and the meaning behind each one. Kappes brilliantly weaves each flower's meaning into the love story she's created, plus provides these beautiful quotes on all-things-flowers, love and happiness.
This first in The Grandberry Falls books has made it right onto my cyber keeper-shelf, and I can't wait for the next one!
