Pretty Little Liars Review

The summer after seventh grade started out fine, but when Alison "Ali," one of Rosewood, Pennsylvania's most popular girls vanished, things changed. While her closest friends (Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily) have all moved on, and are now juniors in high school, she was never seen again. The girls, wanting to move away from the secrets Ali took with her, broke apart, and made new friends. Putting the scandalous past behind them. But now, they must confront their old secrets, and join forces once again, for someone known only as "A" is onto them. Someone who knows things about them that only Ali knew. I have one guilty pleasure. No, it's not chocolate, or sweets. In fact, it has nothing to do with food. It's books about the rich. Their scandalous lives, and the constant shopping they spend most of their time doing. But no YA book has come even close to the amount of scandal found within the pages of Sara Shepard's PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. From page one I was intrigued by the secrets that these four (or should I say five?) girls shared. From blow-ups to make-ups, and everything in between. The characters found within these pages are beyond young and beautiful. There's an evil that lurks around them. An evil that is unexplainable and addicting. Each girl possesses her very own unique personality. Personalities that will draw readers in, in droves, and keep them reading long into the night. From Spencer's wandering eyes; to Aria's fondness for older men; and Hanna's thirst for attention; to Emily's constant confusion regarding her relationships; every reader will find the ability to mesh with one of these...scandalous characters. As satisfying as a pint of Ben & Jerry's...without the calories.

ATLANTIS Review

Bob Mayer (AKA Robert Doherty AKA Greg Donegan AKA Joe Dalton AKA Bob McGuire) is truly one of the more masterful newcomers to the sci-fi genre in many, many years. Intermingling sci-fi with edgy military techo-thriller action, Mayer weaves some of the most enjoyable and imaginative fiction I've ever read with each novel. I look forward to every book he writes and have yet to be disappointed. The Area 51 series has been one of the most exciting I've ever read and just when I thought it couldn't get any better, along came the Atlantis series, which is equally as good, if not better.
With the Atlantis series, Mayer weaves a story of how the deadly elements of what was once thought to be ancient mythology collide with our modern militarized world, bringing to bear a frighteningly realistic, gruesome battle for world domination. A centuries-old war being fought between interdimensional foes has resurfaced in three of the Earth's most mysterious regions. A ship missing since WWII and a covert group of soldiers missing since the Vietnam War, both of which vanished in such regions, suddenly re-emerge from them as though not a day has passed. I was blown away by the quality of the writing, the sophistication of the storyline, the depth of the characters, and the break-neck pace of the book. It is once of the best books I have read this summer. With WIRED, I believe that Mr. Richards will give the masters of this genre (mystery/thriller) a run for their money. The book has a little bit for everyone - cutting edge science/science fiction, a bit of philosophy about good vs evil, action galore, and even a little romance. To say the least WIRED is a thriller but it is so much more. If you love mystery/thrillers you must read this book - it is a masterpiece.
Kira, a brillant scientist, has come up with a mechanism to enhance brain functioning and also a mechanism to make immortality a possibility. However, Kira has left a trail of death and destruction in her wake (including parents, teachers, brother, and others). David Desh, formerly in Special Forces, is asked by his former Colonel to find Kira and bring her to justice. In doing so he hires Matt a top notch computer hacker. Before Desh and Matt can get to far, Kira kidnaps them to try to convince them she is innocent and that there is a conspiracy in place to get to her discoveries. Who is telling the truth and who are the good guys/bad guys-you need to read the book to find out.

We All Fall Down Review

Design engineering contractor Hayden Duke is pleased to have been hired by Marin Design Engineering for a short term project. He hopes that his work will impress the firm's bosses so they would hire him for a full time position. Before he was selected, another contractor walked into the ocean and drowned. The witnesses who called 911 heard the man mumble he did a horrible thing and must pay the price.
The person who hired Hayden is his friend Shane Fallon who is glad to have his pal on board. A couple of days after Hayden starts working Shane sends him an email with an attachment that he cannot open. Hayden calls Shane, who warns him to delete it. Hayden goes to Shane's house only to find a hallucinating man who is locked inside his apartment seeking electronic bugs. He kills himself and the autopsy reveals a bruise on his hand like the man who committed suicide in the ocean. Shane's sister Rebecca and Hayden believe there is more to his apparent suicide and it is linked in some manner to the project. When the project is completed, everyone associated with it except Hayden and Rebecca die in an arson fire. Trying to stay alive and elude police and fire officials' suspicions, the pair seek the truth, which may prove deadly for them.

RAINEY NIGHTS (A Rainey Bell Thriller) Review

With Rainey Bell RE Bradshaw has given us a wonderful complex Ex-FBI character: I loved Rainey Days and Rainey Nights is IMO as good or even better. Again RE delights and haunts us with great visuals: The opening scene is worthy of any Hollywood Movie and you got to love her secondary characters, e.g. Brooks (MORE!). And the story is complex too with several layers and some extras too! This book is not so much a classic "mystery" (although there is a strong element there), but rather a great study of characters, of how to survive a job as difficult as a profiler and about inner strength. The book is action-packed and at some times not for the faint of heart.

As soon as I found out that @SororityProblem was coming out with a book, I was hooked. "Sorry I'm Not Sorry" is probably the funniest thing I've read in a while. Yes, some of the stories are a little extreme, but that's not to say they are unreal. Stuff like this happens in college, and @SororityProblem just happen to put her stories out to the public. I can't wait until the sequel comes out, because I will most definitely purchase it.
