I think that the story was good, but at the same time I would have liked it to be somewhat deeper. It certainly has the potential to be a bigger and more elaborate one.

Love in the Balance Review

At first the story seems a bit predictable--Kasey and Connie are immediately attracted and will eventually get together and fall in love-right. Not so fast! First they go through some wrenching personal stuff with Connie's Mom. Next they face their own fears and some baggage from the past. Then when they finally do get together they have to deal with all different forms of prejudice on the way to everlasting love. Including tragedy that rocks their world and the fairly closeted gay community in which they live. The story is well written. The characters feel real. It is sometimes sad and at other times laugh out loud funny. I am going to read all of her books now. Don't miss this book.

Kasey won't take a chance on that happening again. And her friends won't let her, either. Especially not Sharon. If this is love, Connie has a lot of convincing to do and a lot of people to win over. Just when it seems like maybe she has, real life comes sneaking up again. Some people hate lesbians—hate them enough to kill. And it's not obvious that the authorities care. Zero at the Bone Review

"Zero At The Bone" represents the best of both worlds. It excites the emotions in the way a good thriller should, but it also stirs the deeper feelings of loneliness and connection we associate with tragedy. With her new book, author Jane Seville balance and blends the romantic, criminal and emotional into a gripping love story of the highest caliber.
The premise is deceptively simple if one perceives this as merely a "gay romantic thriller". That said, one might expect a hitman and his dark underworld to merely serve as a backdrop or surface material for explicit homoerotic interludes. But they're not. Here, the complexities of organized crime are given as much attention and compelling detail as the emotional terrain of protagonists Jack and D's relationship. To say the aforementioned characters are vividly brought to life is to put it mildly.
Throughout the story, Seville keeps hitman D's internal tensions visceral and engaging; depicting his alertness to ubiquitous dangers while emanating sangfroid, bristling under his confidant X's censure but in need of her tutelage, drawn to civilian Jack but made anxious by him. It's all there in thoughtful detail as this is a sad, damaged man and Seville conveys his guilt and repression with aching clarity. When he decides not to take a mob ordered hit on witness Jack Francisco, the reader is privy to a provocative, no-holds barred look inside a repressed criminal at a personal crossroads. And while at first he's written to seem cold and detached, it makes it fascinating when he's skewered by the arrow of true love.
Alas, these feelings for Jack cause him to unravel, and we can feel it. Not every writer can so powerfully render that physical sense through words. Seville doesn't just write passion between men but somehow takes us inside it, so that we understand what it would be like to exist as D... to inhabit a body built up to block all emotional attachment and now suddenly be flooded with nonstop longing.
Seville's commitment to the character of Jack-- who delivers "Zero"'s romantic heart-- is equally dedicated. With his character, she incisively details one proud man's descent into fear and survival mode. At first (after deciding not to kill him) D serves as a less formal type of `Witness Protection' for Jack. And when the two fall in love the stakes are raised considerably. Open-faced with fear and bewilderment, dallying in macho even as he quivers in dire expectation, Jack is forced to undergo considerable change. And it's quite exciting it read that as he uncovers such inner-strength and ferocity, he becomes his lover's equal.
However, D is understandably at odds with his repressed homosexuality and this makes for fascinating scenes when set against Jack's lovesick weary openness. Atop it all, there's a moral imperative to Jack's character; a law-abiding medical surgeon. Hence, D's past is a considerable burden and begs moral compromise. He assesses the unsettling acts of D's hitman past and the implausibility of any real future together but cannot be free of D and the pain of loving such a man. It's as if--even in their sort time spent together-- they've marked one another for life. And it's too the author's credit that the reader genuinely believes someone like Jack could fall in love with a killer to begin with.
At first D attempts to not personalize his contact with Jack (while together in hiding) but platonic exchanges soon creak open the floodgates. There's one scene where Jack aids a wounded D-- purely as a doctor-- and the reader is reminded that slow, subtle eroticism is after all possible in modern gay fiction. Now the actual sex, while not particularly explicit, is still romantically explicit; revealing and withholding in perfect proportion.
"Zero" is also one of the most exciting and suspenseful novels I've read in quite some time; the story speeds along, the romance made all the more richer by the intense action sequences. Gripping as well as smart, it feels at times almost like "Brokeback Mountain" blended together with "No Country for Old Men". Even the prefatory motel sequence is marked by fury, loneliness, and the ferocious thrill of the illicit. Later on, there's a remarkable sequence in a warehouse in which D is trapped and held at gunpoint by an adversary while cradling his wounded lover. His emotional state is one anybody could fathom, though it's hard to put a name to it -- defensive acknowledgment? Pained hysteria? Seville renders the moment with brutal dialogue and evocative descriptions; a life-or-death exchange that's charged, emotional and defining with the sense that this man's last chance at happiness lays bleeding in his arms.
From this, Seville successfully lies out and examines themes that tie together beautifully while avoiding traditional rigidity of "plot". Few will be unsatisfied with the book's evocation of love between two very different men. Also, the supporting characters are vivid and finely drawn as well. The story's villains deeply unsettling but never one-note. And the book avoids an ending of soppy moralizing or fairy tale romance in favor of a kind of ambiguity whilst still allowing one to imagine certain things far past the actual end. Ultimately, what we have here is a "gay romantic thriller" that transcends all such labels to become a story with universal appeal and the kinds of characters that will stay with you forever. Trust me, it's a knockout.

Zero at the Bone Overview

After witnessing a mob hit, surgeon Jack Francisco is put into protective custody to keep him safe until he can testify. A hitman known only as D is blackmailed into killing Jack, but when he tracks him down, his weary conscience won't allow him to murder an innocent man. Finding in each other an unlikely ally, Jack and D are soon on the run from shadowy enemies.Forced to work together to survive, the two men forge a bond that ripens into unexpected passion. Jack sees the wounded soul beneath D's cold, detached exterior, and D finds in Jack the person who can help him reclaim the man he once was. As the day of Jack's testimony approaches, he and D find themselves not only fighting for their lives... but also fighting for their future. A future together.

Her Gift, The Duchess (The Duke's Debauchery, 1 - Regency Erotica) Review

this is one of the best erotic short stories i have read in a long time..two thumbs up! or smething else up i you know what i mean...haha

Her Gift, The Duchess (The Duke's Debauchery, 1 - Regency Erotica) Overview

Charlotte, a recent widow, sets out to find the perfect man with whom she can have a single night of pleasure. Little does she know, however, that the man knows more about what she needs than she does. Charlotte is surprised to find a maid named Mary in the duke's chambers, but Mary is more than she seems when she sets out to seduce Charlotte. This is not a full length novel. It's a short, erotic tale that includes a man as a side character, rather than a hero. The duchess, on the other hand....Excerpt:When they came to what she assumed was the duke's chambers, he stopped, opened the door and stepped to the side. “Mary will be along to assist you," he said.“Assist me with what?" Charlotte asked as she stepped into the room. Instead of answering, he closed the door. She wanted to run after him. To bring him back. He obviously knew more than Charlotte did. Charlotte laid her forehead against the door with a heavy thump and muttered, “What do I do now?"“I believe he means for you to dress," a silky voice called from the corner of the room. Charlotte spun quickly, relieved and not relieved all at the same time to find a young woman standing in the corner beside a steaming tub of water. The full bath rested before a crackling fire. “His Grace sent me for your pleasure," she said with a smile. Charlotte stopped short. She didn't look like a servant. She looked like a lady. One of odd circumstance, but still a lady. “You are Mary?"The lady laughed, a soft sound that moved across Charlotte's skin like satin. “May I help you disrobe?"“May I ask what your position within the household is?" Charlotte squeaked. “I am not a member of the household staff," she said, shaking her head. Her silky blonde curls danced across her shoulders. “I am here for your pleasure." She had a voice like a siren and a smile that could sink ships. All gracing the most perfectly proportioned figure.“Yes, you mentioned pleasure," Charlotte murmured. “Do you also attend to the duke's pleasure?" She pretended to pluck at an errant string on her sleeve. The words sounded waspish even to her own ears. A tinkling little laugh was the lady's response. “Do you really want to know the answer to that?"Did she? Probably not.

Secrets of the Heart Review

You can read the description of the story provided by the author so I wont provide that here.
I have purchased and read in excess of 100 books in the lesbian romance genre alone in the last several months. There are certain authours you read one and think cool, I will buy another of her books and then you are either pleasantly surprised or mildly disappointed.
With Syd Parker, I purchased all three and in the span of 36 hours, read all 3 books.
In this book, Syd will pull at your heart strings! Its all about loss and the things we deny to ourselves. There is a lesson served up with this romance. Enjoy the learning :)
The relationships with friends were just as well written and central to the story as the main leads. What a refreshing approach.
I highly recommend you give this new authour a try!

Secrets of the Heart Overview

Suddenly, she is left without her best friend, no love life and serious doubts where her life is headed. Jude Stafford is a hard-nosed attorney who has lived with the knowledge that she wasn't the son her father always wanted and somehow manages not to care. Nightwood (New Edition) Review

First, I should tell you what Nightwood isn't. It's not acelebration of love between women, or of the glamour of Paris, or ofmodernism's traditionally spare aesthetic. It is, however, a wonderful book, which will probably try your patience but will repay your efforts with the pleasure of reading some of the most wonderful writing to have been produced this century. Djuna Barnes, born in the US, spent some twenty years in Europe, during which she wrote innovative journalism, a novel (Ryder), short stories, poetry and plays, and, slowly, the autobiographical fictional narrative that was finally published as Nightwood in 1936. The novel was hard to place, and finally published by no less of a modernist luminary than T.S. Eliot, then working at Faber and Faber.
Barnes' novel chronicles a love affair between two women: Nora Flood, the sometime "puritan," and Robin Vote, a cipher-like "somnambule" -- sleepwalker -- who roams the streets of Paris looking for -- well, it's not quite clear, but it's a fruitless quest she's on. Nora finds herself roaming the streets too, looking for Robin, but, like most of the characters of the novel, she bumps up against Dr Matthew O'Connor instead. O'Connor, an unlicensed doctor from the Barbary Coast, dominates much of the novel with his astounding barrage of anecdote, offering a stream of stories that all point, ultimately, to the sublime misery of romantic obsession. The love story (if it can even be called that) is framed by the history of Felix Volkbein, a self-styled Baron who marries Robin early on, and whose family tree provides the structure on which the rest of this dawdling narrative hangs.
But nothing I say here can give you a sense of Barnes' dense, lyrical prose, and quite amazingly complex and beautiful writing: you simply have to puzzle over the book yourself to experience perhaps the most idiosyncratic novel produced by an American writer between the wars. It's a dark, melancholy story, with much detailed description of the decaying expatriate lifestyle Barnes herself (sometimes) enjoyed. The final chapter of the book has been regarded as controversial, opaque, and/or vaguely pornographic: Eliot wanted to exclude it when the novel was first published. It might certainly surprise you, and perhaps dismay you if you want to see all threads neatly tied together at the end. But I've read this book several times, and have never regretted it for a moment.

Waking Up Gray Review

Lizbeth Jackson, aged forty and divorced is finally free. Free from her sham of a marriage, free from her cheating ex husband and free to lead her own life in any way she wants to.
She arrives on Ocracoke Island from her home in Durham to spend the following few months studying the Carolina brogue for her masters degree. She is at last fulfilling her dream which had been put on hold all these years after Lizbeth married James and had her daughter Mazie at nineteen. Mazie was the one good thing to come out of the marriage.
Lizberth is renting her late aunt Minnie's cottage from her cousins. Although Lizbeth hasn't been to Ocracoke Island for years, she soon settles in to life on the island, helped by her aunt's friend, Fanny O'Neal, from the cottage opposite.
When Lizbeth sees Fanny's granddaughter outside kissing a woman one night, Lizbeth can't get the sight out of her head. When Lizbeth meets Gray over at Fanny's cottage, Gray starts flirting with her and Lizbeth can't help feeling attracted to her.
Lizbeth and Gray begin to spend time together and Lizbeth finds herself falling for Gray in a big way. She decides to throw caution to the wind and go with her feelings. So what if Gray is a woman and Lizbeth has only ever been out with men? Gray however, doesn't want to allow herself to fall in love. She knows Lizbeth will leave the island to go back to her life in Durham and she feels she can't take the hurt and pain this would cause her. Gray has been hurt badly in the past. She knows what she feels for Lizbeth now would break her heart beyond repair if she actually fell in love with her totally.
But the inevitable happens, Lizbeth and Gray sleep together and they fall in love. But the course of their love is to be rudely interrupted by an ex lover turning up, just when things are going so well. The course of events that follow could have a tragic outcome. Will Lizbeth and Gray's love be able survive the consequences of the events that follow?
At last, another delightful romance from the pen of R.E Bradshaw. For me the moral of this book is that yes, life can really begin at forty. Yes, you can start over again from scratch. This book gives hope for anyone that finds themselves in this situation. It is very true to everyday life. This book is wonderfully refreshing and a real must for lovers of fine romance. The descriptions of Ocracoke Island just made me want to book a holiday there. The book is so well written and descriptive, that as a reader I felt at ease among the characters, just like I was viewing it all as it actually happened among friends. I was right there with them. The characters are adorable. The book is a real page turner from the very first page right through to the last page. After each book from R.E Bradshaw, I wonder how she can top the last one, how she can make her stories any better? Well, I have to say she manages it somehow, all her books are nothing but consistently good. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite among R.E Bradshaw's books. I adore them all. They will always have a permanent place on my book shelves, this one included.

Waking Up Gray Overview

Can you start your life over at forty? Lizbeth Jackson was about to find out. She found her first gray hair on the morning of her trip to Ocracoke Island, off the coast of North Carolina. Lizbeth was about to begin a three month sabbatical, on the scenic coastal island, in order to finish her Master's thesis in Linguistic Anthropology. She plans to study the Carolina Brogue spoken there. What she ends up studying is her lesbian neighbor across the street and the uncontrollable pull Lizbeth feels toward her. Lizbeth Jackson is about to find out what life has to offer, after waking up gray.

Stone Butch Blues: A Novel Review

Author Leslie Feinberg has done a remarkable thing in the writing of Stone Butch Blues. The author has opened her soul to anyone who reads and exposed us each to our own fears of being different no matter how slight it may be. Being a gay male, reading this book was recommeded to me by a lesbian friend. At first I was reading it out of respect for my friend, but I found myself unable to put the book down. The story is endearing to anyone who desires to know more about the human spirit and the need and will to survive. I laughed, cried and saw myself in so many of the fears, questions, lonley times and good times experienced by Jess, the Stone Butch. Thank you Leslie Feinberg for the way you gave us a piece of your soul in the book and allowed us to become a little more accepting of our differences and of who we are.

RAINEY NIGHTS (A Rainey Bell Thriller) Review

With Rainey Bell RE Bradshaw has given us a wonderful complex Ex-FBI character: I loved Rainey Days and Rainey Nights is IMO as good or even better. Again RE delights and haunts us with great visuals: The opening scene is worthy of any Hollywood Movie and you got to love her secondary characters, e.g. Brooks (MORE!). And the story is complex too with several layers and some extras too! This book is not so much a classic "mystery" (although there is a strong element there), but rather a great study of characters, of how to survive a job as difficult as a profiler and about inner strength. The book is action-packed and at some times not for the faint of heart.

RAINEY NIGHTS (A Rainey Bell Thriller) Overview

Women are missing and dying in the Triangle area of North Carolina. One woman holds the key to why. With the conclusion of the Y-Man murders nine months ago and her resignation from the FBI, Former Special Agent and Behavioral Analyst, Rainey Bell has finally found peace and contentment she never thought possible, even if she remains a bit paranoid. Her wariness is well-founded and justified when a monster from her past rears his demonic head. Rainey has faced death and evil before - alone. Now it's different - she has a family to protect, her own. Only Rainey can keep them alive. Or can she? As one reviewer said, "Don't assume you know how this story will end."

Lindsay: A Lesbian Seduction Review

My partner and I both enjoy erotica, and this was our first purchase of such for the Kindle.
I really enjoyed this story, and my husband did too, but a little less than I. I read somewhere that the situation is more important for women when reading erotica than blow by blow accounts of genitals coming together; although, this element was by no means lacking. Perhaps this is why it was more enjoyable for me. I loved the way that at the beginning the author gave us a peak into the Sunday routine of Mrs Bradley, and a gentle resume of how her sexual peccadilloes came to be. Then Lindsay, an eighteen-year-old stops by. Its then that the fun begins as the older woman does her best to get the girl to submit to her. By the time she'd got the lovely Lindsay into the Bedroom, I oh-so wanted to be Mrs Bradley.
A little slow at first for hubby, but when the action started he was more than turned on. And I can vouch for that.
Oh, and we both liked the twist in the plot at the end.
So a five from me, and a three from hubby. That averages out as a four.

Lindsay: A Lesbian Seduction Overview

It's a hot summer afternoon and thirties something cougar Mrs. Bradley has the house to her self. She is expecting Lindsay to be popping in sometime soon. After talking with her daughter about Lindsay on the phone this morning, Mrs. Bradley has started to think about the girl in an entirely new light. The coming afternoon may turn out to be far more interesting that she thought. Will the gorgeous Lindsay be susceptible to the older woman's advances? The story builds slowly, reaching an erotic climax that will have you believing you are in the room watching as the two women make love for the first time. SHORT STORY. Seven thousand words (sixteen pages, depending on you settings.) WARNING, this story contains explicit descriptions of lesbian sexual acts.Strictly for adults only.

Georgia's English Rose Review

This is an extremely romantic tale set in war time England which is one of the better written small books in this particular genre.
My friend down loaded this on her Kindle and we read it together. I must say that we were both very, very impressed. Not only do we have a very sweet love story, but we have some of the best and hottest lesbian love scenes that either of us has read in a long, long time. No unrealistic action which will appeal strictly to men (although I dare say men will be turned on by this one...big time), but in addition to being highly erotic, they were more realistic. I say this because many of these small stories, or books, have obviously been written by men for men and it shows.
As to the love scenes; the erotic portion of the book...which comprises a great amount of the story, we find no phallic "tools" being used. Not strange objects being stuck into every orifice of the body. Hey folks, toys on occasions are nice...but really! No, the author has these two ladies using what they were given and they use them quite effectively.
Do please keep in mind that this is most certainly an adult book. The subject is lesbian love and lesbian sexual acts and intimate feelings. Some may find this offensive and if the reader falls into this category, then this work should be avoided.
This is one of the better of the inexpensive downloads you can find on Kindle. The story is sweet, it is well written, and it certainly got me wet at the right times.

Georgia's English Rose Overview

In wartime normal rules no longer apply. Georgia and Lillian find themselves posted to a new Radar station on the south coast of England, where they share a small room and try to keep their growing feelings for each other a secret, even to themselves. When Lillian invites Georgia to her home for a weekend visit, the floodgates burst and a passion both of them have been holding back erupts. What starts as a need for mutual relief quickly escalates into a wild, physical passion that neither can control.-----------------------------------------------------Warning: This story contains scenes of explicit lesbian sex, sharing of a bath, wellington boots and Yorkshire puddings, although not necessarily in that order.-----------------------------------------------------SAMPLE:Georgia slid her hand down my side and then inwards. I felt her tug at the tie on my pajama bottoms, tug it, loosen it and then untie it completely. One side dropped to the mattress. Georgia lifted the other and laid it back over my hip. I felt air cool against my lower belly. Felt air touch my pubic hair. I was almost completely exposed, and I didn't care. No, that was wrong, I wanted to be naked like Georgia, wanted to be naked for Georgia. She moved above to me, our bare breasts touching now, and I shivered again."You're not cold are you, honey?" she breathed."Hot," I said."That's good. I wanna kiss you again, Lil. I wanna kiss you so goddamn much.""Kiss me then, Georgia," I said, and as she did I lay back and she came over on top of me, her mouth on my mouth, opening against my lips, and I moved against her as her leg slid over mine and her thigh pressed between my legs. I wanted to move my tongue, wanted to lick her lips and tried to stop myself in case it disgusted her, but my tongue wouldn't listen, it had a life of its own and I let it go where it wanted. I ran the tip of my tongue along Georgia's full bottom lip and heard her gasp. Then her tongue came back and did the same to me. Our lips met again, mouths open, and this time my tongue went past her lips and I found hers coming to meet mine. I think I groaned. I know I felt Georgia's lips vibrate on mine.My hands stroked her silky back, running up and down the muscled length, and then I let them stray down and rest against the first bloom of her full ass. I rolled the globes in my palms and felt her push against me, grinding her pubic hair against my leg, which lay trapped between hers. Her pussy was so wet. It pressed against my thigh and I felt her labia flatten against my skin. Somehow as we moved my pajama bottoms worked themselves further down and were now below my knees. As soon as Georgia gave me space I would kick them off and we would both be naked. It felt as if my entire body was being licked with fire.Georgia's mouth lifted from mine, but only so that she could kiss my neck. I arched my back, feeling the tingle run straight down to that eager point between my legs. Georgia was wet down there, but I felt like I was leaking."You remember what we did in the bath?" I said, beyond shyness now."How could I forget, honey?" Georgia pecked at my chin, my earlobes, my neck. Her hand stroked my breasts, found my nipples and tugged them."I think I'm going to have to do that again," I said.

My Husband & My Wifey Review

As any story that involves a woman incorporating a woman into their marriage I had an idea of where the plot was going, wife, husband, curiosity, and always the 3rd party is some unbelievably beautiful vixen that threatens the relationship or marriage. The woman usually gets turned out and the man can't get enough of the good chick. That is all included in this particular book. Now, understanding that its a short read I expected things to take place in a rather quick manner, but there were parts of the story that seemed a bit stretched. Overall it was ok. If you are looking for a quick read that is interesting enough then this is definitely for you. But if you are looking for a story thats a little more in depth and builds to the plot then this isn't the story for you. I also do not care for the ending. It almost made the story seem incomplete. With it leaving me feeling as if I missed something I was disappointed.

All birthday gifts aren't created equal, but Barrett McKenzie didn't know this. As a successful lawyer, she is fortunate enough to give her husband anything he wants, and this year Barrett doesn't disappoint, she gives him Sage.Tall, beautiful and sultry, Sage joins the couple for a ménage a trois. The Best Roommate Review

Erotica F/F : my review is based on the story, erotica and enjoyment.
I have read pretty much all types of erotica. So for this book I dabbled in F/F erotica. This story is about 2 roommates who gradually started having a little fun with each other. Joanna is the more out there dominate roommate and Ellie is the shy roommate. Ellie has been recovering from her breakup with her recent boyfriend. Joanna hasn't seen Ellie in a few days and was concerned and decided to check on her. Upon reaching Ellie's door, Joanna caught Ellie masturbating. Ellie was so embarrass that she felt awkward around Joanna from that moment on. Joanna always fantasize about her roommate Ellie, so she decides to make her feel better and let Ellie walk in on her masturbating. After this moment both girls starts to explore their sexuality and decides that they are having way too much fun exploring. It's just like any other erotic I have pretty much read but it's 2 females exploring.
Be warn about the erotica aspect of the book, if that is not you then this won't be your kind of read.
