Yes there are some issues especially with the character relationships and the simplistic story. I can also understand the stereotypes... Really "Catcher" and "Pitcher"? but did i put down the book at any point in the 24 hours it took me to read... no... However, something about "straight" boys and "jocks" is appealing to me.. i did feel a connection. It was a more simpler Brokeback Mountain but still a great coming out story, although it seemed too quick... Did it really take 4 years and only a few days to turn friends into lovers into partners for life.. Although its definitely not a book that would really make your world turn around... it did resonate with me.. i guess if you feel like one of the characters as i did, you would understand... i enjoyed the book and could read it again.. Most gay films are laden with stereotypes and although there are a few here, it isn't so far from the truth... If you are looking for a sophisticated gay novel, this isn't it... i will say the sexual scenes were amazing and if you have had a fantasy for straight masculine and muscular men... this is definitely a book you want to read and for the price...!!!Str8te Boys Overview
