Breaking Cover (Life Lessons) Review

Life Lessons was great but this 2nd book is even better. The writer has done a wonderful job on so many fronts. Her writing is even more smooth and absorbing here. The relationship between Mac and Tony reaches the critical cross road. Their confrontation and one guy's ultimatum and heartbreak brought a lump to my throat. In the beginning Mac really deserves a shaking but when he finally comes through for Tony, I too wish to give this hunk a hug. That is one memorable scene! I also like how the kids blend into these 2 men's struggle and the kids' visible roles definitely give this story that more emotional punch. The crime angle and investigation is well done and have me glued to the plot. But ultimately it is these guys' emotional journey and struggle which really does it for me. Very satisfying conclusion but definitely room for a 3rd book and much more. Fans should also read the short novelette And to All a Good Night (Life Lessons), just a short bridge between the first and 2nd book but nicely done. This second book really excels in emotions. Bravo Kaje Harper!
